For the fifth year in a row, students of art high schools and professional institutes challenge themselves in portfolio shots in the weeks preceding Fashion Graduate Italia 2021
Italian Academies and Fashion Schools organize a open Fashion week dedicated to young people. The future and the attention to those who are starting a training course in fashion are crucial elements for those who work in academic, graduated and post-graduate training.
The event, open to the public, will exhibit the projects of the graduates of the participating Schools with fashion shows and static shows and will offer opportunities for visibility also to students of Professional Institutes and High Schools, through a contest which will see them as protagonists.
Participating students must send their portfolio electronically
a single document in PDF – minimum 5 maximum 15 pages
containing a selection of the best projects carried out and the process that generated them, (research, moodboards, keywords, definition of materials and, where present, photographs of the garments and / or accessories made).
The students portfolios must be sent to contest@piattaformamoda.it
starting June 28th and no later than September 26th, 2021
The Quality Jury will select the Finalist Projects and Special Mentions, which will be communicated to interested parties on October 21st, 2021
Composed of a group of experts: Academic Directors, Teachers of the Academies, Institutes and Schools associated to Piattaforma Sistema Formativo Moda and members of the Board of Directors of the Association. The Quality Committee will evaluate the works received, awarding the first, second and third place in the Best Portfolio category and the assignment of Special Mentions.
The projects published on the site will get an important space also on Fashion Graduate Italia social networks: Instagram and Facebook. In addition to the first place in the Best Portfolio category, the following Special Mentions are provided:
The best course of written and visual analysis to nourish the project
The most personal and itentitarian project
The most well-presented project
Quality of the drawings and general layout of the project
The project with the most technical prowess
The winners of the Best Portfolio category and of the Special Mentions will receive a plaque certifying the award received that will be delivered during the event Fashion Graduate Italia 2021 from 24 to 27 October in Milan.
Starting from the 2021 Edition of the Contest, the three winning students in the Best Portfolio category will have the opportunity to participate in a personal video call together with the members of the Quality Committee who will comment on the student’s portfolio and work, providing suggestions and indications.
Piattaforma Moda wants to offer to the winning students a valuable opportunity to deepen their knowledge and confrontation with authoritative representatives of the Italian Fashion Training System, which can support their orientation process.
