After having worked for five years as a fabric designer, Zeynep Guntas moved to Milan to frequent the Master in Fashion Design at the Domus Academy. After graduating, she put her own name to her brand, drawing inspiration from the experiences of the younger generations. Zynep approaches design starting from its materiality. Looking for new shapes and textures, she aims to reach innovations in each of her garments.
For SS2018, Zeynep launched a capsule collection in collaboration with the rapper Tyron Walker, aka A$AP TyY, that was presented during Paris fashion week in June and at Fashion Hub in Milano in September. The collection combines reflective pants and logoed t-shirts, biker patchwork leather pants and jackets. The jerseys portray Hentai. A special section is dedicated to re-constructed denim.
GUNTAS is to be read as an idea, an abstraction being able to go beyond frontiers, either moral or physical.
